Symbollon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: SYMBA) today announced financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2006. For the three months ended September 30, 2006, the Company reported a net loss of $663,043, or a diluted loss per share of $0.07, compared with a net income of $38,395, or a diluted income per share of $0.00 in the prior year. For the nine months ended September 30, 2006, the Company reported a net loss of $1,857,584, or a diluted loss per share of $0.23, compared with a net loss of $329,307, or a diluted loss per share of $0.05 in the prior year. The increased loss for such periods resulted primarily from increased clinical development expenses related to IoGen(TM), salaries and related costs and facility expenses previously allocated to manufacturing, and consulting and other service expenses.
